Since January 2024, childcare workers are exempt from the standard six-month employer limit on the Working Holiday Visa. You can work at the same preschool for twelve months or more. Renew for a second year. Your preschool can then sponsor you for a Skills in Demand visa - and the right to stay.
Australia has a shortage of 21,000 qualified teachers. British Early Years qualifications are specifically sought after. You are not applying into a crowded field. You are needed.

Does it cost me anything?

You'll need to cover your visa application - around AUD $510 - and initial flights.
Many preschools offer flight reimbursement on arrival.

Will I qualify for a visa?
The 417 Working Holiday Visa is applied for online and typically approved within one to seven days.
You need a valid UK passport and to be aged 21–35.
Almost all teachers who apply are approved.
What if I don't like my placement?
You'll have a Zoom interview with the preschool before committing to anything.
If something isn't right once you arrive, speak to us and we will work through it with you.
Can I stay longer than six months?
Yes. Since January 2024 the six-month employer limit no longer applies to childcare workers.
You can stay with the same preschool for twelve months, renew for a second year, and apply for sponsored residency from there.
